Alessio Piacentini

Dr Alessio Piacentini is a radiologist at the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio in Milan.
Since 2025, he has also been a PhD candidate in Clinical Research at the University of Milan, with a research pathway dedicated to ultrasound radiology carried out at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 2021 with full marks. During his years of study, he spent 12 months as an Erasmus student at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany, and 2 months at Langone Medical Center in New York, United States, taking part in a cadaver dissection anatomy course.
He subsequently obtained his Specialisation in Radiodiagnostics from the University of Milan in 2025. As part of this training, he spent 6 months at the Allgemeines Krankenhaus in Vienna, Austria, in the Diagnostic and Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiology department directed by Dr Iris-Melanie Noebauer-Huhmann, with particular focus on the study of the peripheral nervous system.
In 2024, he also completed a Research Fellowship at the Medical University of Vienna.
Dr Piacentini deals with the main diagnostic techniques, RX, ultrasound, CT, MRI and MR arthrography, with particular reference to musculoskeletal diseases.
His main areas of interest are joint conditions, tendons, ligaments and muscles, and ultrasound assessment of nerves.
He is a member of:
- Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM)
- European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR).
He has worked and continues to work on several scientific publications and actively participates in national and international conferences as a speaker and tutor.
