Benedetta Pessina

Dr. Pessina is a pediatric specialist under agreement at Casa di Cura La Madonnina and a Senior Consultant in the Complex Unit of Pediatrics and Neonatology at the Rho and Garbagnate Hospitals of ASST Rhodense.
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 2018 from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (International MD Program, taught in English), she completed her specialization in Pediatrics in 2024 at the University of Florence. In 2025, she also obtained a second-level Master’s degree in Pediatric Immunology and Allergology and became a Research Fellow in Pediatric Allergology with clinical affiliation at Meyer University Hospital IRCCS, a position she holds until July 2025.
During her training, Dr. Pessina gained experience in leading international institutions, including the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (Milwaukee, USA) and the Pediatric Allergology Unit of Hospital Materno-Infantil Gregorio Marañón (Madrid, Spain), where she focused in particular on oral food desensitization.
Her main clinical interests are pediatric immunology and allergology, with a specific focus on food allergies in children and related therapeutic options, such as oral immunotherapy and biologic drugs.
She is also actively involved in research in Pediatric Allergology, food allergies, specific immunotherapy, anaphylaxis, and biologic therapies. Her scientific output includes 91 citations, 24 publications, and an h-index of 6 (Scopus, September 2025).
