Carlotta La Raja

Dr. Carlotta La Raja is a General Surgeon and Proctologist at the Coloproctology and Pelvic Floor Surgery Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, directed by Dr. Angelo Stuto.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2018 from the University of Padua and completed her specialization in General Surgery in 2024 at Humanitas University in Milan. From the early stages of her professional training, she oriented her career toward colorectal surgery, developing a particular interest in proctology.

During her residency, she completed an important international training experience at the Pelvic Floor Surgery Unit of St. Mark’s Hospital in London, a world-renowned reference center for colorectal diseases, where she deepened her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of posterior pelvic compartment disorders.

She currently focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor and anorectal conditions, including hemorrhoidal disease, anal fissures, fistulas, abscesses, continence disorders, and pelvic organ prolapse. She also treats functional disorders such as constipation and obstructed defecation syndrome. She has developed specific expertise in transanal ultrasound and anorectal manometry.

Her clinical practice is based on a specialized, multidisciplinary approach with strong attention to patients’ quality of life.
