السيرة الذاتية
Dr. Elena Cozza is a specialist in Cardiovascular Diseases and works as a cardiologist at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, collaborating with the Interventional Cardiology and Hemodynamics Unit directed by Professor Francesco Bedogni.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2020 from Sapienza University of Rome, where she completed the first part of her medical training. She subsequently obtained her specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2025 at the University of Padua, a national reference center for heart transplantation, the study of cardiomyopathies, advanced heart failure, and the management of critically ill cardiac patients.
She completed her clinical training at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, where she developed advanced skills in cardiovascular diagnostics, with particular focus on echocardiography, especially in the interventional field.
Since 2024, she has been primarily involved in clinical and interventional echocardiography, performing preoperative evaluation, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative follow-up of patients undergoing structural cardiology procedures, in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology team.
Her clinical activity also includes:
- specialist outpatient management of cardiology patients, with comprehensive care
- advanced cardiac diagnostics, including coronary CT
- clinical care activities, although less frequent, in the cardiac intensive care unit and hospital ward
Alongside her clinical work, she is involved in scientific research, mainly in the field of cardiac CT, focusing on coronary imaging and the integration of CT into the diagnostic and procedural assessment of cardiology patients. To a lesser extent, she also works on interventional echocardiography related to structural procedures.
She is author of 12 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, including 2 as first author, and has contributed to research presented at national and international scientific congresses, including those organized by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the Italian Society of Interventional Echocardiography (SIECVI), and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
