Eleonora Vico

Dr. Eleonora Vico is a general surgeon at the Unit of General and Emergency Surgery of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, where she carries out her clinical and surgical activity within the team led by Prof. Emanuele Asti, with a particular focus on esophageal diseases and emergency surgery.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2018 from Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. During her university training, she completed international training periods at New York University and later in Madrid at Hospital Universitario La Paz, broadening her clinical skills in highly specialized settings.
After graduation, she moved to Monza, where she began her residency in General Surgery at San Gerardo Hospital – University of Milan-Bicocca, focusing in particular on pancreatic and gastric surgery. She completed her specialization in 2024 at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, joining Prof. Asti’s team, with an increasing focus on benign and malignant esophageal diseases and emergency surgery, an area in which she has continued her professional activity.
At Policlinico San Donato, she performs operating room activities, outpatient general surgery clinics, a dedicated clinic for gastroesophageal reflux disease, abdominal ultrasound examinations, surgical consultations for the Emergency Department, as well as ward duties and emergency surgery.
Her clinical practice is oriented toward general surgery, with particular interest in esophageal diseases, abdominal wall pathology, specialist outpatient care, and the management of patients in emergency and urgent settings.
