Dr. Giada Maria Almirante is a gynecologist at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Massimo Candiani, and a consultant gynecologist at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 1999 from the University of Milan, she specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2004 at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
From 1995 to 2004, first as a student, then as an internal physician and finally as a resident, she gained experience at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of IRCCS San Raffaele in Milan, focusing particularly on:
Obstetrics:
- pregnancy-related conditions
- gestational diabetes
- hypertension in pregnancy
Gynecology:
- hysteroscopy
- vaginal infectious diseases
- colposcopy
- benign gynecological conditions (fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis)
Since May 2005 she has been a consultant gynecologist at Casa di Cura La Madonnina. In addition:
- From July 2005 to 2010 she was a consultant gynecologist at Centro San Luigi of Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.
- Since November 2005 she has been a specialist physician in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit of Fondazione Centro San Raffaele del Monte Tabor.
- From 2008 to 2010 she was a consultant gynecologist at Poliambulatorio San Felice Illasi
She also gained relevant international experience. In 2014 she worked at:
- NHS University College London Hospital
- National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square (London), focusing on chronic pelvic pain
Dr. Almirante has performed:
- more than 200 minimally invasive surgeries
- a similar number of vaginal and open surgeries as first operator
- more than 400 cesarean sections
- approximately 200 CO₂ laser colposcopy treatments
- in addition to numerous procedures as assistant surgeon.
She is currently involved in research on laser treatments for Bartholin gland cysts.
