Dr. Giorgio Fiore is a Cardiologist at the Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
In 2018 he graduated with honors and special mention in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Naples “Federico II”, and in 2023 he completed his specialization with honors in Cardiology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.
During his studies, he completed a period of training at the University Cardiology Department of Coimbra, in Portugal.
Dr. Fiore is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of the main diseases of the heart and blood vessels, such as arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias, and cardiomyopathies (hypertrophic, dilated, and amyloidosis).
He is particularly specialized in the study and treatment of heart valve diseases that require a cardiac surgical or interventional approach. He has experience in the management of aortic valve diseases, mitral valve prolapse, including the evaluation of arrhythmic risk, as well as tricuspid valve diseases.
He performs advanced echocardiography, using modern techniques such as three-dimensional echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography. He also performs the bubble test for the diagnosis of patent foramen ovale (PFO).
He is also involved in imaging for percutaneous interventional procedures (MitraClip, TriClip, closure of PFO and atrial septal defect (ASD), closure of the left atrial appendage), both in the preoperative and intraoperative phases, as well as in emergency cardiology and emergency department activities.
Dr. Fiore is author and co-author of numerous publications in international scientific journals. He participates as a speaker at national and international cardiology congresses.
He is an academic tutor for the Second-Level Master’s Degree in Interventional Echocardiography at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
