Ilaria Formenti

Dr. Ilaria Formenti is an endocrinologist and diabetologist at the Diabetology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2007 from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, where she completed her specialization with honors in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases in 2014.

She is a contract lecturer at the School of Specialization in Endocrinology of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

In 2013, she obtained the SIUMB certification in internal ultrasound, subsequently focusing her studies on the endocrine glands of the neck (thyroid and parathyroid).

In the following years, she further developed her specialist training by focusing on care pathways for diabetic foot complications, acquiring specific surgical skills.

She is currently the reference physician for Ospedale San Raffaele within the Regional Network for the treatment of Diabetic Foot, serving as the leader of the designated multidisciplinary team.

Her outpatient clinical activity focuses on type 2 diabetes and its complications, particularly diabetic foot and lower limb complications, as well as thyroid diseases (including ultrasound evaluation of neck endocrine glands), dyslipidemia, obesity, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders, and menstrual cycle disorders. She also performs surgical procedures for diabetic foot management.

Dr. Formenti is a member of the Italian Association of Endocrinology Physicians (AME), the Italian Association of Diabetologists (AMD), and the Italian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (SIUMB), and regularly participates in national conferences and training courses as a speaker.
