Dr. Lorenzo Marcellini is an orthopedic surgeon specialized in foot and ankle surgery and Head of the Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery Center at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

After graduating with top marks in Medicine and Surgery from Sapienza University of Rome in 2010, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the same university in 2016.

During his training, he attended leading international centers dedicated to foot and ankle surgery, with particular focus on foot biomechanics and minimally invasive and percutaneous surgical techniques, including:

  • Swiss Ortho Center, Basel, Switzerland

He mainly deals with minimally invasive and percutaneous orthopedic surgery of the foot and ankle, with particular expertise in the treatment of forefoot disorders and hallux valgus.

He is founder and director of AVI - Alluce Valgo Italia, a project dedicated to the percutaneous treatment of hallux valgus and patient care pathways.

He is Adjunct Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Faculty of Medicine of ASOMI College of Sciences in Malta.

He is also scientific director of the advanced foot surgery training course “The Foot”.

He is author and co-author of national and international scientific publications and regularly participates in sector congresses, also as a speaker.
