Dr. Martina Monzio Compagnoni is a pelvic-floor physiotherapist at the Pelvic Floor Surgery and Proctology Unit of the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia. She specializes in urogynecological and colon-proctological rehabilitation for women (including pregnancy and postpartum), men, and children.
In 2022, she graduated in Rehabilitation Health Professions from the Department of Clinical-Surgical, Diagnostic and Pediatric Sciences of the University of Pavia, achieving a final score of 110/110 cum laude.
Her clinical activity focuses mainly on pelvic-floor rehabilitation using Biofeedback, Electrostimulation, Radiofrequency, and Electroporation. She deals with:
- urological symptoms (stress, urge, and mixed incontinence; urinary retention; overactive bladder, etc.);
- proctological symptoms (constipation, fecal incontinence and urgency, obstructed defecation, anorectal pain, hypertonia, etc.);
- pelvic organ support disorders (pelvic organ prolapse);
- pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation (such as surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, prostatectomy, abdominoplasty, etc.);
- pain syndromes (vestibulodynia, vulvodynia, endometriosis, vaginismus, atrophy, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, pudendal nerve syndrome, lichen, etc.);
- childbirth preparation;
- postpartum rehabilitation;
- perineal rehabilitation after surgery for neoplastic diseases;
- rehabilitation for diastasis recti.
