Silvia Miette Pontremoli

Dr Silvia Miette Pontremoli is a cardiologist in the Clinical, Interventional Cardiology and Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, directed by Dr Francesco Bedogni.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery with full marks and honours in 2021 from the University of Milan. She subsequently obtained her Specialisation in Cardiovascular Diseases from the University of Pavia in 2025. During her training, she developed a particular interest in:

• intensive cardiology;
• cardiac arrest;
• ventricular arrhythmias.

She carries out her clinical activity mainly in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU), dealing with the management of patients with acute cardiovascular syndromes and critical conditions.

Alongside her interventional activity, she maintains a constant commitment to clinical cardiology, with particular interest in echocardiography, including advanced and intra-procedural echocardiography, integrating imaging methods into daily clinical practice.

In parallel with her clinical activity, she is involved in scientific research, with a particular focus on cardiogenic shock and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

She is the author of publications in international scientific journals, including a commentary published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

She also deals with the development and application of innovative techniques for the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias, with particular interest in percutaneous stellate ganglion block, a field in which she also carries out training activities through dedicated courses based on anatomy and ultrasound.

She regularly participates as a speaker at national and international conferences on cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest and modulation of the autonomic nervous system.
