Dr. Sofia Guerrini is a cardiologist at the Clinical, Interventional Cardiology and Coronary Intensive Care Unit (UTIC) of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, directed by Prof. Francesco Bedogni.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2019 from the University of Brescia with top marks (110/110 cum laude with honors). She subsequently obtained her specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Padua in 2025, with the highest marks. Her specialist thesis focused on the prognostic stratification of post-cardiac arrest patients through the development of a multiparametric model for the initial assessment of critically ill patients.

During her specialization training, she gained experience in the management of critically ill patients in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit and in advanced cardiovascular imaging, carrying out a fellowship at the Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory of the Clinical Cardiology Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

At Policlinico San Donato, she performs clinical cardiology activities in both inpatient and outpatient settings, integrated with advanced cardiovascular imaging activities.

Dr. Guerrini manages patients with:

  • acute and chronic coronary syndromes;
  • dyslipidemia;
  • heart failure;
  • valvular diseases.

She also performs:

  • baseline and stress transthoracic echocardiography,
  • transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

She participates in intraprocedural echocardiographic monitoring through TEE during structural interventional cardiology procedures, overseeing pre- and post-procedural anatomical and functional assessment.

She is an ordinary member of the Italian Society of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging (SIECVI) and a member of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC).

In June 2024, she obtained the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
