Luca Paolo Alberti

Dr. Luca Paolo Alberti is an interventional cardiologist at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi–Sant’Ambrogio.

He graduated with honors in 2011 from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and completed his specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases with top marks and honors at the University of Florence, where he developed a specific interest in interventional cardiology, particularly in the percutaneous treatment of structural heart disease. In 2023, he obtained a second-level Master’s degree at the University of Padua, focused on transcatheter treatment of structural heart disease using multimodal imaging.

His clinical activity is primarily focused on interventional cardiology, with particular attention to the treatment of chronic coronary syndromes and acute myocardial infarction. He has expertise in transcatheter treatment of structural heart disease, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), percutaneous repair of the mitral and tricuspid valves with MitraClip/TriClip systems, correction of congenital defects such as ASD and PFO, and percutaneous left atrial appendage closure in patients with atrial fibrillation at high bleeding risk.

During his previous experience at IRCCS MultiMedica, he gained solid expertise in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease and in the management of critical limb ischemia in patients with diabetic foot.

His research activity mainly focuses on acute coronary syndromes and on the percutaneous treatment of mitral valve disease.
