Биография
Dr. Alberto Mario Marconi is a urologist at the Urology Unit of the Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1977, where he also specialized in Urology in 1980. Additionally, he earned specializations in General Surgery (1986) and Microsurgery and Experimental Surgery (1990) at the University of Pavia.
His professional experience includes:
- Assistant Medical Officer at the Urology Division of the “Circolo e Fondazione Macchi” Hospital in Varese from October 1979 to October 1986.
- Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the same division from January 1986 to August 2004.
- Head of the Urological Endoscopy and Lithotripsy Unit at the division from 1990.
- Acting Chief Medical Officer with primary responsibility at the same division from September 2004 to July 2006.
- Director of the Complex Urology Structure at the “Circolo e Fondazione Macchi” Hospital from August 2006 until his retirement in May 2018.
Dr. Marconi has held various teaching positions, including:
- Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
- Lecturer for the Integrative Course at the University of Brescia.
- Contract Professor at the Urology Schools of the University of Pavia and University of Insubria.
- Contract Professor at the Obstetrics School and General Surgery School of the University of Insubria.
Throughout his career, Dr. Marconi has dealt extensively with all types of urological conditions, particularly major oncological cases. He has performed over 100 kidney transplants as the primary operator. His work includes significant contributions to pediatric urology and the promotion of prostate adenomectomy with Tullio laser (THULEP). He also has expertise in laser lithotripsy for renal stones, both endoscopic (RIRS) and percutaneous (EICIRS).
He is a member of several scientific societies and has authored over 150 publications in various fields of Urology.
