Alessandro Sammartino (Алессандро Саммартино)

Dr. Alessandro Sammartino is an ophthalmologist currently practicing at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1988, followed by a specialization in Ophthalmology in 1992 from the same university. 

Dr. Sammartino has gained extensive clinical and surgical expertise throughout his career by serving at prestigious hospitals, including the Hospital of Legnano, Vimercate Hospital, Desio Hospital, the outpatient clinics of Milan, and Policlinico di Zingonia. 

He has held several key positions, such as Head of Refractive Surgery at Vimercate Hospital and Head of the Glaucoma Clinic at both Vimercate and Desio Hospitals. Additionally, he was the Head of Ophthalmology in Milan's outpatient clinics.

His professional focus has primarily been on the clinical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as the management of visual defects, including myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia, and presbyopia, in both patients with normal vision and those affected by cataracts.
