Neurosurgery deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all conditions of neurosurgical interest (oncological, vascular, malformative and traumatic).
In particular, Ospedale San Raffaele is a national and international reference center for the treatment of pituitary and skull base tumors, vascular and spinal pathologies, as well as pathologies of the pediatric age.
Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio is one of the international reference centers for the treatment of brain lesions with brain mapping techniques and the first center in Italy for DBS-Deep Brain Stimulation. It also deals with the surgical treatment of brain lesions associated with epilepsy and drug-resistant epilepsy.
To offer optimal treatment, patients are followed by a multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, neuroradiologists, neurophthalmologists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, otolaryngologists and radiotherapists.
