Alessandro Baj

Professor Alessandro Baj is Head of the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital.

He is also Associate Professor of Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences at the University of Milan and Director of the School of Specialization in Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Milan.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1997 from the University of Parma and subsequently specialized in Maxillofacial Surgery at the same university in 2002.

Throughout his career, Professor Baj has performed approximately 1,000 procedures in trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction, more than 1,000 procedures in oncological and post-oncological reconstructive surgery, and approximately 300 procedures for the correction of facial dysmorphisms.

Thanks to his experience, he is known for microsurgery procedures, as well as for developing minimally invasive surgical techniques and for his expertise in technological innovations applied to reconstructive surgery.

He has more than 79 indexed publications, 5 textbooks, and more than 922 citations. He regularly participates in congresses in his field.
