Angelo Messina

Dr. Angelo Messina is an Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon at the Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopic Surgery Center (C.T.S.) of IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital. He also collaborates with Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Palermo in 2018 with highest honors. He continued his studies and, in 2026, completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Milan, again with highest honors.

During his specialist training, he attended renowned specialist units, including:

• Knee II team, headed by Prof. W. Pascale;
• Sports Traumatology Center, headed by Dr. R. Pozzoni;
• Foot and Ankle Specialist Unit, headed by Dr. U. Alfieri Montrasio;
• Pediatric Orthopedics, headed by Dr. F. Verdoni, at Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital;
• Orthopedic Clinic, headed by Prof. P. S. Randelli, at Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital;
• Orthopedic Clinic, headed by Prof. M. M. Parrini;
• Knee Joint Surgery Unit, headed by Dr. M. Berruto, at ASST Gaetano Pini-CTO in Milan.

Since 2022, he has collaborated with the Regional Musculoskeletal Tissue Bank of Lombardy, based at ASST Gaetano Pini-CTO, as a tissue retrieval physician and, since 2026, as Team Leader.

He treats a wide range of orthopedic and trauma-related conditions, with a particular focus on:

• Capsuloligamentous, cartilage, and meniscal injuries of the knee, ankle, and shoulder;
• Acute traumatic and overuse sports-related conditions affecting different joints and muscle-tendon structures;
• Degenerative diseases of the knee and hip, for which he performs joint replacement surgery using minimally invasive techniques;
• Joint regenerative medicine through PRP injection techniques and cell therapies.

He currently serves as Team Physician for the youth sector of F.C. Internazionale Milano.

He is committed to continuous professional development through regular participation in national and international congresses and advanced training courses in orthopedics and traumatology.
