Biography
Dr. Attilio Cotroneo performs his cardiac surgery activity at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, within the Adult Cardiac Surgery Unit, collaborating with the team directed by Dr. Carlo De Vincentiis.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Messina. In 2008 he obtained his specialization in Vascular Surgery at the same university.
In 2011 he completed a training period at the Complex Aortic Unit of the Cleveland Clinic. He also obtained a Second-Level University Master’s Degree in Cardiological Techniques Applied to Cardiac Surgery, awarded jointly by the University of Bergamo and the University of Milan-Bicocca, in 2022.
His clinical activity is characterized by a particular interest in the treatment of diseases of the ascending aorta, the aortic arch, and the thoracic and abdominal aorta, using both open surgical techniques and endovascular approaches.
He has dedicated significant attention to the treatment of aortic stenosis, both through surgical procedures and transcatheter techniques (TAVI).
He has also developed experience in the treatment of mitral and tricuspid valve diseases, using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques, as well as in coronary surgery.
Alongside his cardiac surgery activity, he has always maintained clinical activity in vascular surgery.
