Biography

Dr Federica Invernizzi is Head Physician of the Solvent Medicine 7I Unit and Head of Outpatient Medical Hepatology at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.

She is also clinical coordinator of the GENOS project, the Preventive and Personalised Medicine Centre of the same hospital. She also collaborates as a consultant at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Turro for the Psychiatry department.

She graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2009, where she subsequently completed, with honours, her Specialisation in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy in 2016.

During her training, she obtained the National Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound, 2012, the Level II Master’s Degree in Transplant Medicine with the professional qualification of “Transplant Hepatologist”, AISF, 2020, and the Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics, 2022.

From 2017 to 2021, she was a medical director at the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit – Transplant Hepatology Unit of Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan, where she developed significant experience in the management of patients with advanced liver disease and in the transplant pathway.

Her clinical activity combines internal medicine and hepatology, with an approach focused on the comprehensive care of the patient. She deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases, developing personalised pathways that integrate the management of liver diseases with that of metabolic and internal medicine comorbidities. She pays particular attention to preventive medicine and longevity medicine, promoting strategies aimed at preserving health, preventing chronic diseases and improving quality of life and healthy life expectancy.

In the field of hepatology, she deals in particular with metabolic, toxic and autoimmune liver diseases, with consolidated experience in the management of complex liver disease patients, transplant candidates and patients who have undergone liver transplantation. She also performs abdominal ultrasound examinations.

Her research activity is focused on liver diseases and metabolic disorders, with particular interest in hepatic steatosis, metabolic syndrome, obesity, alcohol-related diseases, autoimmune liver diseases, and preventive and personalised medicine.
