In 2015 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery with top marks, honors and a mention of excellence from the University of Padua, and in 2020 he specialized in Cardiology at the University of Trieste, again graduating with top marks and honors.

In 2022 he obtained a second-level University Master’s degree in Cardiac Intensive Care at the University of Padua.

Among his professional experiences:

  • Since December 2024 he has been a cardiologist and staff physician at the Cardiovascular Imaging Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
  • From November 2020 to November 2024 he worked as a cardiologist and divisional consultant at the Cardiovascular Imaging Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
  • Since November 2024 he has been a cardiology consultant at Punto RAF Respighi.

  • Since November 2021 he has been a cardiology consultant and echocardiographer at the Schuster Outpatient Clinic of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

Dr. Biondi’s interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of structural heart diseases, with particular attention to cardiomyopathies (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and phenocopies such as Anderson-Fabry disease; dilated cardiomyopathy; arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy; non-dilated left ventricular cardiomyopathy; transthyretin amyloidosis, both wild-type and variant, and AL amyloidosis; restrictive cardiomyopathy) and valvular heart diseases and their surgical or percutaneous treatment.

In the diagnostic field, he performs cardiology consultations, ECG, cardiovascular stress testing, transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography in outpatient and hospital settings, as well as intraprocedural transesophageal guidance during complex percutaneous procedures (MitraClip, TriClip, TAVI, TMVR, TTVR, Valve-in-Valve procedures, valvuloplasty, leak closure, percutaneous left atrial appendage closure, ECMO, Impella, IABP).

Dr. Biondi is able to interpret cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and the results of genetic testing in cardiomyopathies and structural heart diseases. His strength lies in integrating clinical data, ECG findings, cardiovascular imaging, and genetics in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiomyopathies and structural heart diseases.

He also works in emergency cardiology, including cardiology emergency department activity and on-call shifts in cardiac intensive care and cardiology wards.

He conceived and promoted a PRIN research project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research on the role of cardiovascular imaging in the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (total funding approximately €180,000).

Since 2022 he has served as a tutor for the second-level Master’s program in Interventional Echocardiography at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
