Biography
Dr. Francesca Calabretto is a breast surgeon at the Breast Surgery Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. She also collaborates with Policlinico San Marco in Zingonia, in the province of Bergamo.
In 2016 she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan with top marks and, in 2022, she specialized in General Surgery at the University of Pavia with top marks and honors.
Dr. Calabretto focuses on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast diseases, with particular attention to breast cancer. She also manages patients at high genetic risk, favoring personalized approaches integrated within a multidisciplinary context and accompanying patients throughout the entire care pathway, from the initial evaluation to the selection of the most appropriate surgical treatment.
Her diagnostic and surgical activity in breast diseases is carried out in close collaboration with oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, geneticists, and plastic surgeons, with the aim of ensuring effective, safe therapeutic pathways oriented toward quality of life.
She performs breast-conserving surgery also using oncoplastic techniques, as well as ablative procedures, including mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, in collaboration with plastic surgeons, both in the preoperative setting and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Dr. Calabretto is involved in research and scientific update projects aimed at the continuous improvement of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Author and co-author of several internationally relevant scientific publications, she regularly participates in national and international courses and congresses in the field.
