Biography

Dr. Francesca Facchini is an orthopedic physician at the Sport Trauma and Research Center at Istituto Clinico San Siro. She also collaborates with IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 2007 from the University of Milan, she specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2013 at the same university.

Among her professional experiences:

  • In March 2018 she served as Head of Medical Assistance for the World Figure Skating Championships of the ISU – International Skating Union.
  • From September 2012 to September 2014 she was Team Physician for the Italian Women’s National Ice Hockey Team (Italian Ice Sports Federation), providing medical care during training sessions and national and international competitions.
  • From September 2011 to September 2013 she was Team Physician for the Italian National Snowboard and Freestyle Teams (men’s and women’s) of the Italian Winter Sports Federation.
  • In 2012 she served as Team Physician during the “Brazil Tour 2012” for the Teatro alla Scala Foundation of Milan, providing general and orthopedic medical care to all participants of the tour.
  • In March 2012 she worked as an orthopedic physician at Saint Jean de Dieu Hospital in Afagnan, Togo, where she carried out surgical, outpatient, and ward activities.
  • In 2009 she was part of the organizing committee of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships as a competition physician, providing medical assistance during training sessions and competitions.

From 2012 to 2022 she served as a consultant physician at the Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopic Surgery Center (CTS) at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio. She currently works at Istituto Clinico San Siro and collaborates with IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio and with the hospital’s Regenerative Medicine Center, RE.GA.IN.
