Biography
Dr. Giacomo Ingallina is a cardiologist at the Cardiovascular Imaging Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
In 2011 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, and in 2017 he completed his specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Florence.
During the final year of his specialization, he deepened his expertise in cardiovascular imaging, carrying out external training periods at Niguarda Hospital and San Raffaele Hospital.
His work at the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Unit of Niguarda Hospital enabled him to obtain the EACVI Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Level 2 certification. During the period spent in the echocardiography laboratories directed by Prof. Agricola, he also developed solid experience in the use of advanced echocardiography for the evaluation and treatment of valvular heart diseases.
After completing his specialization, he worked at the Cardiology Department of Bassini Hospital from August 2017 to May 2018, mainly dealing with intensive care and outpatient activity. Since June 2018 he has been working at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
His clinical activity focuses mainly on the study of patients through advanced echocardiography, both transthoracic and transesophageal, as well as through physical and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
At the Cardiovascular Imaging Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, he is involved in imaging for structural interventional procedures, including preoperative patient selection, intraprocedural monitoring, and follow-up.
He has developed consolidated experience in the evaluation of patients with ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and patent foramen ovale (PFO). He also performs activities in the cardiology emergency department and outpatient cardiology services.
Dr. Ingallina is the author and co-author of more than 50 publications in scientific journals in the field, with an H-index of 12. He regularly participates in national and international cardiology courses and conferences and is a member of the Editorial Board of a scientific journal in the field.
