Biography

Dr. Luca Monestier is an orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit II of Istituti Clinici Zucchi, directed by Dr. Daniele Casalini, and also practices at the Zucchi Wellness Clinic.

He specializes in foot and ankle orthopedic surgery in both adults and pediatric patients, fields that have been the core of his clinical and surgical activity for over ten years.

After earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2010 and completing his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2016 at the University of Insubria in Varese, he further refined his training through two fellowships: one in foot and ankle surgery at the Foot & Ankle Clinic in Abano Terme (Prof. Antonio Volpe), and one in arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery at Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, within the SIAGASCOT program (Italian Society of Arthroscopy, Knee, Upper Limb, Sports, Cartilage, Orthopedic Technologies).

Dr. Monestier’s main areas of practice include:

  • Elective surgery of the forefoot, midfoot, hindfoot, and ankle (prostheses, instability, arthroscopy)
  • Pediatric orthopedics
  • Ultrasound-guided injections to the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle, and big toe
  • Foot and ankle traumatology

He is also a member of the National Executive Board of the Italian Society of Ankle and Foot for the 2025–2027 term.

He has gained extensive experience in orthopedic trauma in adults, the elderly, and children, as well as in sports traumatology, having served for years as team physician for professional football clubs and for the Italian Women’s Junior National Volleyball Team (FIPAV) in international competitions.
