Biography
Dr Matteo Bossi is a vascular surgeon and carries out clinical activity as assistant head physician in the Vascular Surgery Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Roberto Chiesa.
He graduated with full marks in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Insubria in 2011 and specialised in Vascular Surgery at the University of Milan in 2017.
His surgical areas of interest concern all fields of vascular disease, with particular attention to:
- aneurysmal disease of the abdominal aorta, thoracic aorta and thoracoabdominal aorta;
- open and endovascular treatment of steno-occlusive disease of the carotid axes;
- open and endovascular treatment of steno-occlusive disease of the arteries of the lower limbs.
Dr Bossi also specifically deals with mechanical circulatory support in patients with cardiogenic shock, working closely with the Cardiac Arrest Center of Ospedale San Raffaele.
He is also an expert in the creation and management of vascular access for haemodialysis and in the treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome.
Finally, he deals with the treatment of superficial venous disease of the lower limbs, using both standard surgical and minimally invasive ablative techniques, and the treatment of deep venous system disease.
He has taken part in over 4,000 surgical procedures, more than 1,500 of which performed as first operator.
Dr Bossi carries out non-invasive diagnostics and specialist consultations. He has developed excellent expertise in non-invasive vascular diagnostics with colour Doppler ultrasound of all districts, with particular attention both to the diagnosis of vascular diseases and to post-surgical follow-up.
He is the author and co-author of scientific publications in international journals and book chapters. He is Co-Investigator in scientific studies on aortic disease and peripheral vascular disease; he is also a reviewer for international scientific journals.
He has participated as a speaker in numerous national and international congresses and is a member of the Italian Society for Vascular Surgery, SICVE, the European Society for Vascular Surgery, ESVS, and the Italian Society of Phlebology, SIF.
