Biography

Dr. Nedy Brambilla is a cardiologist and Head of Structural Interventional Cardiology at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan. She also provides outpatient consultations at Smart Clinic Certosa.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1998.

In 2002, she completed her specialization in Cardiology at the University of Pavia.

Throughout her academic career, she has participated in numerous research studies, initially in the field of clinical cardiology and subsequently in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Brambilla works within the Clinical Cardiology Department, the cardiology outpatient clinics of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, and the cardiac catheterization laboratory, where she performs all types of procedures, including:

  • coronary interventions, including complex procedures;
  • vascular interventions;
  • carotid interventions;
  • structural heart procedures.

She organizes and performs:

  • PFO/ASD closure procedures;
  • TAVR procedures (implantation of Evolut R/Evolut Pro Plus, Portico/Portico NG, S3, and Accurate Neo2 valves);
  • percutaneous mitral and tricuspid valvuloplasty using various devices (MitraClip and Pascal);
  • mitral valve-in-valve and valve-in-ring procedures.

She has also established programs for the implantation of mitral valves (Tendyne) and tricuspid valves (Evoque, Cardiovalve) through percutaneous and/or transapical approaches as part of clinical research studies.

She has more than ten years of experience in TAVR procedures and serves as a Proctor for several medical device companies.

As a tutor in the catheterization laboratory, she has actively contributed to the training of numerous fellows at the Institute.

Dr. Brambilla also performs cardiology consultations and diagnostic evaluations at Smart Clinic Certosa.

She has actively contributed to the enrollment of numerous patients in scientific projects and clinical research protocols and has participated in more than 60 scientific publications.
