Biography

Dr. Nicola Farina is an Immunologist and Rheumatologist at the Unit of Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergology and Rare Diseases of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Lorenzo Dagna. He also collaborates with Smart Clinic.

He obtained his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2017 from the University of Verona and later specialized in Clinical Immunology in 2022 at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, graduating with top marks in both cases. Between 2021 and 2022, he also completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at University College London.

Dr. Farina is responsible for the outpatient clinic dedicated to rheumatologic adverse reactions to oncological immunotherapy and for the shared clinic with Ophthalmologists dedicated to ocular pemphigoid.

He also treats:

  • inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis) and their treatment with biologic drugs
  • large-vessel vasculitis (giant cell arteritis and Takayasu arteritis)
  • autoinflammatory diseases (in particular, adult-onset Still’s disease)
  • sarcoidosis
  • Behçet’s disease
  • connective tissue diseases
  • immune-mediated ocular disorders (for example, uveitis and scleritis)

Dr. Farina conducts clinical research in the above-mentioned diseases and is the author of multiple publications in international scientific journals (H-index 15), actively participating in national and international congresses in the field.

Dr. Farina is also a contract professor at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
