Biography
Dr Pietro Desimone is a specialist in cardiology and carries out his clinical activity at Palazzo della Salute Wellness Clinic. He also works at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, within the Interventional Cardiology and Haemodynamics Unit, led by Professor F. Bedogni.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2019 from Sapienza University of Rome and, in 2025, obtained his specialisation in Cardiovascular Diseases from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. During the final year of his specialisation, he attended the Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, specifically deepening his expertise in first- and second-level cardiovascular imaging.
His clinical activity focuses on the complex outpatient management of cardiology patients, integrating accurate clinical assessment with advanced echocardiographic diagnostics. He has gained experience in the pre-, intra- and post-procedural assessment of complex valvular heart diseases.
He also carries out cardiology consultations, specialist consultations, cycle ergometer stress tests and echocardiographic examinations at rest and under stress.
Alongside his clinical activity, Dr Desimone has carried out scientific research, with the publication of five papers on topics such as:
- the assessment of clinical outcomes in patients undergoing MitraClip;
- syncope and pseudosyncope;
- the role of Coumel’s triangle in atrial fibrillation;
- cardioneuroablation and cardiomodulation.
He participates in national and international congresses in the field.
