Biographie
Dr. Francesca Giacomazzi is an internist specializing in cardiovascular medicine, currently serving as the Head of the Cardiovascular Area in the Solvents Department at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.
An expert in preoperative assessment and follow-up of cardiovascular surgical patients, she focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult cardiovascular and thromboembolic diseases, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart failure, ischemic and valvular heart disease, and venous thromboembolism. Her approach is characterized by a comprehensive view and continuity of care.
She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1991. In 1993, she obtained equivalence of her degree in the United States, awarded by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). In 2001, she completed her specialization in Internal Medicine at the University of Milan with full marks.
From 1994 to 1995, she practiced at the Department of Internal Medicine at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, affiliated with Cornell University in New York, USA.
From 1993 to 2018, she worked at the Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Departments at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, including serving as the Head of the Cardiac Perioperative Medicine Unit.
Between 2018 and 2021, she focused on the Clinical Development of the Chronicity Project, coordinated international patients, and managed the COVID Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato during the pandemic.
A member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and author of several cardiovascular publications, she was a Principal Investigator in the Clarify Registry, an international observational study of patients with chronic ischemic heart disease.
