Biographie

Le Dr Karl Anders Knutsson est ophtalmologue au sein du Service cornée et chirurgie réfractive de l’IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, dirigé par le professeur Francesco Bandello, et responsable du Service de chirurgie réfractive.

Après avoir obtenu son diplôme en médecine et chirurgie avec mention à l’Université Vita-Salute San Raffaele en 2010, il s’est spécialisé, à nouveau avec mention, en ophtalmologie dans la même université en 2016. En 2015, il a effectué une fellowship chirurgicale au Royaume-Uni, auprès du Bristol Eye Hospital.

Le Dr Knutsson s’occupe plus spécifiquement de :

  • pathologies de la cornée ;
  • greffes de cornée ;
  • chirurgie réfractive ;
  • chirurgie de la cataracte.

L’activité de recherche du Dr Knutsson est axée sur les pathologies cornéennes et les greffes de cornée.

Il compte plusieurs publications scientifiques dans des revues à facteur d’impact et est auteur de nombreux chapitres de manuels sur la chirurgie cornéenne.

Il participe à des congrès nationaux et internationaux du secteur. En 2023, il a obtenu la reconnaissance de Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologists - Subspecialist in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, FEBOS-CR, titre conféré à des spécialistes ayant une formation avancée en chirurgie de la cataracte et réfractive.
