Biografía

El profesor Giampaolo Bianchini es responsable de Oncología Mamaria en el Departamento de Oncología Médica del IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele y Profesor Asociado en la Universidad Vita-Salute San Raffaele.

Tras graduarse en Medicina y Cirugía en el año 2000 en la Universidad de Milano-Bicocca, se especializó en Oncología Médica en 2004 en la Universidad de Milán.

Durante su formación realizó actividades como Visiting Scientist en varias prestigiosas instituciones estadounidenses, entre ellas el National Cancer Institute (Bethesda), el MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) y el Yale Cancer Center (New Haven).

El profesor Bianchini atiende y trata a pacientes con cáncer de mama en estadio temprano y metastásico, con casi veinticinco años de experiencia clínica, y está reconocido internacionalmente como opinion leader en el campo del cáncer de mama. Además, tiene un gran interés en el desarrollo de nuevas terapias y de enfoques inmunoterapéuticos para el tratamiento de esta enfermedad.

El profesor Giampaolo Bianchini también es responsable del grupo de investigación clínica traslacional y de inmunoterapia dentro del Departamento de Oncología Médica y participa en numerosos proyectos de investigación dedicados a mujeres con cáncer de mama, orientados a comprender los mecanismos de respuesta y resistencia a los fármacos disponibles, identificar nuevas estrategias terapéuticas y definir biomarcadores útiles para mejorar la personalización de los tratamientos.

El profesor Bianchini es autor de numerosas publicaciones en revistas internacionales como Nature, The Lancet, Annals of Oncology, The Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Medicine, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology y muchas otras. Participa regularmente en congresos y conferencias nacionales e internacionales.
