Biographie

Le professeur Giampaolo Bianchini est responsable de l’Oncologie mammaire au sein du Département d’Oncologie médicale de l’IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele et professeur associé à l’Université Vita-Salute San Raffaele.

Après avoir obtenu son diplôme en Médecine et Chirurgie en 2000 à l’Université de Milano-Bicocca, il s’est spécialisé en Oncologie médicale en 2004 à l’Université de Milan.

Au cours de sa formation, il a travaillé comme Visiting Scientist dans plusieurs institutions américaines prestigieuses, notamment le National Cancer Institute (Bethesda), le MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) et le Yale Cancer Center (New Haven).

Le professeur Bianchini suit et traite des patientes atteintes de cancer du sein à un stade précoce et métastatique, avec près de vingt-cinq ans d’expérience clinique, et est reconnu au niveau international comme opinion leader dans le domaine du cancer du sein. Il s’intéresse également fortement au développement de nouvelles thérapies et d’approches immunothérapeutiques pour le traitement de cette maladie.

Le professeur Giampaolo Bianchini est également responsable du groupe de recherche clinique translationnelle et d’immunothérapie au sein du Département d’Oncologie médicale et participe à de nombreux projets de recherche dédiés aux femmes atteintes de cancer du sein, visant à comprendre les mécanismes de réponse et de résistance aux médicaments disponibles, à identifier de nouvelles stratégies thérapeutiques et à définir des biomarqueurs utiles pour améliorer la personnalisation des traitements.

Le professeur Bianchini est auteur de nombreuses publications dans des revues scientifiques internationales telles que Nature, The Lancet, Annals of Oncology, The Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Medicine, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology et bien d’autres. Il participe régulièrement à des congrès et conférences nationaux et internationaux.
