Biografía

El doctor Ugo Catrambone es responsable de la Unidad de Cirugía de Tiroides y Paratiroides del IRCCS Policlinico San Donato. Además, colabora con Smart Clinic.

Se graduó en Medicina y Cirugía en 1997 en la Universidad de Génova con una tesis sobre el tratamiento quirúrgico de las enfermedades de la tiroides. En 2003 se especializó en Cirugía General en la misma universidad, realizando durante su formación dos experiencias en el extranjero en el Brigham and Women’s Hospital de la Harvard Medical School de Boston y en el Hospital Universitario de Zúrich.

Entre 2011 y 2012 asistió al departamento de cirugía general del hospital de Pisa para obtener un Máster universitario de segundo nivel en Cirugía de Tiroides y Paratiroides.

Su actividad clínica se centra en el tratamiento de los tumores de la tiroides, de las enfermedades funcionales de la tiroides (hipertiroidismo, enfermedad de Basedow, enfermedad de Plummer) y del bocio multinodular. También trata el hiperparatiroidismo primario y los tumores benignos y malignos de las paratiroides, incluso mediante técnicas mínimamente invasivas.

Realiza actividad de investigación sobre los tumores de la tiroides y la cirugía de las paratiroides y es autor de 19 publicaciones científicas.

Participa activamente en congresos nacionales e internacionales del sector.
