Biographie

Le docteur Ugo Catrambone est responsable de l’Unité de Chirurgie de la Thyroïde et des Parathyroïdes à l’IRCCS Policlinico San Donato. Il collabore également avec Smart Clinic.

Il a obtenu son diplôme en Médecine et Chirurgie en 1997 à l’Université de Gênes avec une thèse consacrée au traitement chirurgical des maladies de la thyroïde. En 2003, il se spécialise en Chirurgie Générale dans la même université, en effectuant au cours de sa formation deux expériences à l’étranger au Brigham and Women's Hospital de la Harvard Medical School à Boston et à l’Hôpital Universitaire de Zurich.

Entre 2011 et 2012, il a fréquenté le service de chirurgie générale de l’hôpital de Pise afin d’obtenir un Master universitaire de deuxième niveau en Chirurgie de la Thyroïde et des Parathyroïdes.

Son activité clinique se concentre sur le traitement des tumeurs de la thyroïde, des maladies fonctionnelles de la thyroïde (hyperthyroïdie, maladie de Basedow, maladie de Plummer) et du goitre multinodulaire. Il traite également l’hyperparathyroïdie primitive ainsi que les tumeurs bénignes et malignes des parathyroïdes, y compris à l’aide de techniques mini-invasives.

Il mène des activités de recherche sur les tumeurs de la thyroïde et la chirurgie des parathyroïdes et est auteur de 19 publications scientifiques.

Il participe activement à des congrès nationaux et internationaux dans son domaine.
