Biografie

Dr. Ugo Catrambone este responsabilul Unității de Chirurgie a Tiroidei și Paratiroidelor din cadrul IRCCS Policlinico San Donato. De asemenea, colaborează cu Smart Clinic.

În 1997 a absolvit Facultatea de Medicină și Chirurgie la Universitatea din Genova, cu o teză privind tratamentul chirurgical al bolilor tiroidei. În 2003 s-a specializat în Chirurgie Generală la aceeași universitate, efectuând în această perioadă două experiențe de formare în străinătate la Brigham and Women's Hospital al Harvard Medical School din Boston și la Spitalul Universitar din Zürich.

Între 2011 și 2012 a frecventat secția de chirurgie generală a spitalului din Pisa pentru a obține un Master universitar de nivel II în Chirurgia Tiroidei și Paratiroidelor.

Activitatea sa clinică se concentrează pe tratamentul tumorilor tiroidei, al bolilor funcționale ale tiroidei (hipertiroidism, boala Basedow, boala Plummer) și al gușei multinodulare. De asemenea, tratează hiperparatiroidismul primar și tumorile benigne și maligne ale paratiroidelor, inclusiv prin tehnici chirurgicale minim invazive.

Desfășoară activitate de cercetare în domeniul tumorilor tiroidei și al chirurgiei paratiroidelor și este autor a 19 publicații științifice.

Participă activ la congrese naționale și internaționale de specialitate.
